Devanti 900mm Rangehood Manual: Complete Installation & Setup Guide 2025
Everything you need to know about installing, operating, and maintaining your Devanti 900mm rangehood
Understanding Your Devanti 900mm Rangehood Models
Devanti offers two distinct 900mm rangehood models, each designed for different kitchen needs and aesthetic preferences. This guide covers both the traditional wall-mounted model and the sleek slim-body design to help you choose and install the right one for your home.
Bottom Line Up Front
Both Devanti 900mm rangehoods offer excellent ventilation for Australian kitchens with different power outputs and designs. The standard model (RH-D-A17-90) suits traditional setups with 66.5W power, while the slim model (RH-D-F49-90) delivers superior 125W performance in a modern design. Choose based on your power needs and kitchen aesthetic.
Traditional Wall-Mounted Model
Power: 66.5W motor
Design: Adjustable chimney, rocker button controls

Slim Body Modern Design

Design: Elegant slim body, touch controls
Best For: Modern kitchens requiring powerful extraction
Pre-Installation Requirements

10mm drill bit for wall anchors (supplied with unit)
Phillips Screwdriver
For securing brackets and final installation
Tape Measure
Accurate measurement is critical for proper alignment
Level
Ensure your rangehood sits perfectly horizontal
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
Traditional Model (RH-D-A17-90-SR) Installation
-
Mark Your Reference Lines
Draw a vertical line from your cooktop center to the ceiling. Mark a horizontal line A at 835-935mm above the cooktop surface. This is where your hood will mount. -
Calculate Chimney Height
Measure distance X based on your chimney option: 400mm only (no upper line needed), 400+300mm (mark line B at 410-650mm above line A), or 400+390mm (mark line B at 410-740mm above line A). -
Mark Drilling Points
On horizontal line A, mark two points 80mm from the center line (160mm apart total). These are your main mounting points. Mark additional points 155mm from center on a line 116mm below line A for bottom support screws. -
Install Wall Brackets
Drill 10mm diameter holes at marked points. Insert the supplied wall plugs. Partially screw in the top two screws (5x50mm), leaving about 5mm exposed to hang the hood. -
Mount the Hood Body
Hook the rangehood onto the partially inserted top screws. Level the unit carefully, then fully tighten the top screws. Install bottom screws through the hood into wall plugs for secure mounting. -
Connect Ducting
For ducted installation, attach either 150mm or 120mm diameter ductwork to the top outlet. Use the reducer flange (supplied) if using 120mm ducting. Secure with appropriate clamps (not supplied). Ensure ductwork runs as short and straight as possible to exterior. -
Install Chimney Sections
Attach the lower decorative chimney to the hood body using the supplied 4.2x9.5mm screws. If using an upper chimney section, mount the chimney bracket to the wall at your marked line B, then secure the upper chimney to this bracket. -
Final Checks
Reconnect power and test all speed settings. Check that LED lights function properly. Verify the hood is level and all screws are tight.
Slim Model (RH-D-F49-90-SR) Installation
-
Measure and Mark
Mark a vertical centerline above your cooktop. For the 90cm model, mark two points 538mm apart (269mm each side of center) at your desired mounting height (minimum 650mm above cooktop). -
Prepare Wall Anchors
Drill 10mm holes at the marked points. Insert the supplied plastic wall plugs firmly into the wall. -
Choose Venting Mode
Before mounting, rotate the venting knob on top of the unit. Turn it to the extraction position for ducted installation or recirculation position if using carbon filters (sold separately). -
Mount the Hood
Screw in the top mounting screws partially. Hang the hood on these screws, level it carefully, then insert and tighten all remaining screws including the bottom mounting points. -
Install Ducting or Carbon Filter
For extraction mode, connect 120mm diameter ducting to the top outlet with the supplied check valve. For recirculation mode, install optional carbon filters inside the unit at the motor end. -
Power Connection and Testing
Plug into a standard Australian power outlet. Test the touch controls at all three speed settings and verify LED lights are working.

Operating Your Rangehood
Control Panel Functions
Traditional Model: Features simple rocker switches for intuitive operation. Press the motor switch to cycle through three speeds (low, medium, high) or turn off. Separate switch controls LED lighting.
Slim Model: Touch-sensitive controls offer a modern interface. Individual buttons for motor on/off, lighting on/off, and three distinct speed settings (low, medium, high).
Choosing the Right Speed Setting
Low Speed
Ideal for simmering, keeping warm, or light cooking with minimal smoke production
Medium Speed
Perfect for everyday cooking, stir-frying, and most general kitchen ventilation needs
High Speed
Use for heavy cooking, grilling, or when dealing with significant smoke and steam
Maintenance & Cleaning
Aluminium Grease Filters
Clean every 2 months for normal use, monthly for heavy cooking. The 5-layer aluminium filters are dishwasher safe or can be hand-washed with mild detergent and warm water. To remove filters, push them toward the back of the hood while pulling down. Some color change over time is normal and doesn't affect performance.
Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode Only)
Replace every 2-3 months depending on usage. These filters cannot be washed or regenerated. For the slim model, remove grease filters first, then twist the carbon filter counterclockwise to remove from the motor housing.
LED Light Replacement
- Disconnect power at the wall outlet or circuit breaker
- Remove the metal grease filters to access the light modules
- Carefully pry the LED module from its fitting (may require firm pressure)
- Disconnect the electrical connector
- Install new LED module (1.5W specifications) and reconnect
- Test before replacing filters
External Cleaning
Wipe the stainless steel surfaces weekly with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. Always wipe in the direction of the grain for stainless steel.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light works but motor doesn't | Blocked blades or damaged capacitor | Check for obstructions; may require capacitor or motor replacement |
| Neither light nor motor works | Power connection issue or damaged bulb | Check power cord connection; replace LED if necessary |
| Excessive vibration | Loose mounting or damaged blade | Tighten all mounting screws; inspect motor blades for damage |
| Weak suction | Incorrect mounting height or excessive ventilation | Verify 650mm minimum height; close nearby windows and doors during operation |
| Oil leakage | Improper seal at outlet or connections | Remove outlet and reseal with appropriate sealant |
| Hood not level | Loose fixing or hanging screws | Tighten all mounting hardware and verify with level |
